This Mango and Pineapple Smoothie is perfect for summer! The mango combined with the fresh pineapple combined with the ripe banana is oh so delicious. This tropical smoothie loaded with flavor and is naturally dairy free and kid friendly. This recipe makes me feel like I am on a tropical island on a hot summer day. You can make this refreshing treat in less than 5 minutes! You can even make this healthy smoothie into freeze pops if that is your jam too!
We love making fun drinks in my house. Between mocktails and smoothies they are a fun way to spice things up. My husband loves drinking a smoothie like this one for breakfast these days. My sister tells me this reminds her of Mcdonald’s Mango Pineapple Smoothie, but better! Mango and Pineapple Smoothie Ingredients
- Mango chunks-You can use fresh mango or frozen mango. If you buy fresh make sure it is ripe. Make sure you are suing a ripe mango, it should be soft like an avocado when it is ripe. You can also buy in bulk from the frozen section to have on hand. We love buying Costco frozen fruits!
- Pineapple chunks-Same with the pineapple, you can use fresh or frozen. We like to buy a bag of frozen pineapple from Costco. Make sure if it is fresh that it is ripe. You can also used canned pineapple, just make sure nothing is added to it.
- Fresh Banana-I like adding banana to this smoothie because it sweetens it up and adds some creaminess! You can also use a frozen banana but remember that will add a little bit of ice to this smoothie. If you want it to be creamier, be sure to use fresh.
- Collagen peptides-This is my go to form of protein powder. You can use regular protein powder if you tolerate it. I do not tolerate pea or whey protein so I stick to collagen peptides. Collagen peptides are great for the skin, guts and your bones. I love this collagen peptide brand.
- Coconut milk-My go to milk of choice. I love Trader Joe’s canned coconut milk. It is literally just coconut and water.
- Optional add in-spinach to get those greens in!
See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.
Recipe Substitutions and Ingredients
- Coconut milk-This can be from the bottle of you can use a can of coconut milk. You can also use any other kind of milk here. I am dairy free so I would only substitute with almond milk. You can also use soy milk.
- You can add any other tropical fruits to this recipe to add even more flavor like passion fruit! Even a splash of orange juice, coconut water will add some extra flavor.
- Avocado-If you are concerned about managing your blood sugar and love adding in healthy fats like I do, you can consider adding in some avocado, or a tablespoon of chia seeds.
- If you want a creamy texture and creamy smoothie, you can add in plain greek yogurt.
- If you want a boost of protein feel free to add in a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
- Baby spinach-This will certainly make this a green smoothie, but it will not affect the flavor.
- While this recipe certainly does not need any added sugar, the tropical flavors alone are enough, you can add in a little bit of pineapple juice or maple syrup for added sweetness.

I love this amazing Ninja Blender. I have had it since college and it has served me well. It cleans well too- rinse it and put it in the dishwasher.
Absolutely not! You can use whey or pea protein powder. I don’t tolerate either kind of protein powders so I stick to collagen peptides.
