One of the things that was important to us from the start with our new home was eliminating clutter and staying organized as much as possible. We had only lived in our old home for less than 2 years, yet we accumulated so much stuff during that short period. Every time I would pull into our old garage, I would be afraid something was going to fall on me! There was stuff everywhere, and nothing had a place.
That is why this time around we were so excited to work with Inspired Closets Pittsburgh to set up our organization system in our garage. I collaborated with Logan and Jenna, and they were a dream to work with! Jenna came out and measured the space. I told her what my vision was, and she sent me multiple layouts with suggestions for the plans. We ultimately wanted something to hide shoes, tools, and outdoor stuff like rakes, leaf blowers, etc. I didn’t want to see it or fear running over it when I pulled into the garage. I also wanted a small work space where I could plant things.
We opted for the Fort and Fieldstone finish and color. I wanted something that matched our home but also would hide the dirt. The surfaces are really easy to clean, just requiring you to wipe them down with a wet rag if they do get dirty. I also loved that all of the shelves in the units are adjustable, meaning I can change the heights and add hooks as needed.
With the changing of the seasons approaching, now is the perfect time to get the house organized. I am a big believer that, when you keep your spaces cleaned and organized, you just feel better.
